Can an Unmarried Woman Get Endometriosis?
Endometriosis is a hot topic of research in gynecology and is now a disease with a high prevalence. It is a chronic gynecologic condition defined clinically as active endometrial tissue outside the endometrium. It occurs mainly in women of childbearing age and does not develop before puberty, and the ectopic lesions can gradually shrink and degenerate after menopause.
Therefore, there is no strong correlation between having this disease and being married or not. In other words, unmarried women can also get endometriosis.
To know the answer to the above question, women should clarify the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
Generally, endometriosis is caused by a patient's low immune system, hereditary factors, long-term environmental factors, menstrual reflux during menstruation, certain gynecological inflammatory conditions, etc. Endometriosis can affect a woman's life quality and even her chances of fertility. Progressively increased menstrual pain or infertility in women of childbearing age are the main symptoms of endometriosis.
So, why does endometriosis occur?
1. Menstrual disorders. In particular, shortened menstrual cycles, frequent menstruation, heavy menstruation, prolonged periods, and abdominal pain during menstruation increase the chances of menstrual blood reflux and subsequent freeing of endometrial fragments.
2. Frequent sexual life during menstruation. During menstruation, women's immunity to bacteria is reduced. If women do not pay attention to avoiding sexual life or they are overworked, it is easy to lead to inflammatory infections, increasing the chances of getting endometriosis.
3. Multiple abortions and cesarean sections increase the chance of inflammatory infection. When multiple abortions are performed, it is difficult to avoid endometrial debris and blood entering the pelvis through the fallopian tubes, causing endometriosis.
4. Uterus malposition. The normal position of the uterus is anteriorly inclined and forwardly flexed to facilitate the flow of menstrual blood. If the uterus is posteriorly inclined and posteriorly flexed, it is easy to cause poor flow of menstrual blood and create conditions for the reflux of menstrual blood into the abdominal cavity.
5. Genital canal abnormalities. This includes congenital developmental abnormalities and those caused by acquired errors. Congenital development has uterine occlusion, transverse vaginal septum, hymenal atresia, etc. Acquired abnormalities can be caused by abortion, uterine, vaginal, and other surgeries resulting in menstrual blood reflux.
6. Excessive stress and poor immunity. This is one of the causes of endometriosis. Long-term mental stress can cause plant nerve dysfunction and affect the endocrine regulation of the body.
Women should select endometriosis treatment according to the patient's age, symptoms, location, the extent of the lesion, and fertility requirements. As a result, female patients can achieve the goals of reducing and removing the lesion, alleviating and controlling pain, treating and promoting fertility, and preventing and reducing recurrence. The lesions can be removed by surgical means, or the condition can be controlled by medications. Patients are advised to take appropriate anti-inflammatory or analgesic medications for relief treatment. In severe cases, surgery should be performed to remove the lesion and prevent other complications with great caution.
For endometriosis caused by inflammation, female patients are recommended to take the herbal medicine Fuyan Pill, which has strong anti-inflammatory properties. It can also reduce swelling, regulate menstruation and relieve pain. It eliminates gynecological tissue lesions through more than a dozen herbal ingredients and helps treat gynecological diseases and inflammation caused by female endometriosis, salpingitis, tubal hyperplasia, and infertility.
Women should pay great attention to appropriate exercise and adequate nutrition to improve the body's immune capacity. Once women have symptoms of discomfort, they had better see a doctor in time to prevent the delay or aggravation of the condition.
