Pangolin Scales (Chinese spell: Shan Jia ) - "guiding herb" of Fuyan Pill

Scales of pangolin, salty in flavour and cool in nature, can promote blood circulation, dissipate lesions, regulate menses and promote the producing of human milk. Pangolin Scales is the "guiding herb" of the remedy of Fuyan Pill, it guides all other herbs to work in women's reproductive system, not somewhere else. Without Pangolin Scales, Fuyan Pill works in the whole body.

Radix Bupleuri (Chinese spell: Chai Hu)

Herbage, bitter in flavour and cool in nature, can clear away heat (fire), promote Yang and preserve the liver. Radix Bupleuri is used to treat cold, fever, malaria, rectocele, chest bulge feeling and pain, and irregular menses. Notice: People whose liver is with too much Yang or heat shoud not use this herb. Bupleurum longibrachiatum Turcz, which is familiar with Radix Bupleuri, is highly toxic, cannot be used as this herb.

Tuckahoe (Indian Buead, Chinese spell: Fu Ling)

Fungi, slight sweet in flavour and mild in nature, can preserve the spleen and stomach, can promote the expel of dampness. Tuckahoe is used to treat urinary discomfort, cough, vomit, spermatorrhea, cancer and amnesia. Tuckahoe 25 grams, Coix Seed 25 grams, with some rice, make them into porridge, can treat those with frequent diarrhea and urinary discomfort or disorder. Tuckahoe 25grams, tangerine peel 5 grams, stew them. Drink the water of it with 10 drops of ginger juice in it, can treat pregnancy vomit.

Radix Scutellariae (Chinese spell: Huang Qin)

Bitter in flavour and cold in nature. It is the root of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, can clear away heat, stop bleeding, prevent from miscarrage, and reduce blood press. Radix Scutellariae is used to treat sunstroke, icterus, upper respiratory tract infection, dysentery, hish blood pressure, fetal irritability. Radix Scutellariae restrains several gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria, virulent fungus that causes skin condition, influenza virus, and hepatitis B virus. Radix Scutellariae with Largehead Atractylodes Rh can treat fetal irritability and prevent from miscarrage.

Fructus Gardenia (Chinese spell: Zhi Zi)

Seed of gardenia, bitter in flavour and cold in nature, can clear away fire and promote the expel of dampness and toxic materials. Fructus Gardenia is used to treat headache, hematuria, canker sore, sprain, and swell. Notice: Fructuns Gardenis is very cold in nature, thus those who are suffering from diarrhea should avoid this herb.

Atractylodes lancea (Rhizoma Atractylodis, Chinese spell: Cang Zhu)

Atractylodes, spicy and bitter inflavour, warm in nature, can preserve spleen, clear away cold and dampness. Atractylodes lancea is used to treat sence of distension at stomach, excessive vaginal discharge, diarrhea, edema, barbiers, rheumatis plantago seed, Dianthus superbus, talcum, earthworm, Polygonum aviculare, herba laminariae, pangolin, saffron, semen persicae, honeysuckle, lignum aquilariaem, cold, and night blindness.

Talcum (Chinese spell: Hua Shi)

Mineral, slight sweet in flavour and cold in nature, can be diuretic, clear away heat and dampness. Talcum is used to treat eczema, miliaria as its external use; to be taken orally, talcum treats urinary discomfort and pain, sunstroke. With other herbs talcum can treat swell, pain, barbiers, and carbuncle.

Chinese Yam (Chinese spell: Shan Yao)

Earthnut of the yam, food, slight sweet and salty in flavour, mild in nature, can preserve spleen, muscles, hair, and kidneys. Chinese Yam is used to treat anorexia, frequent urination, asthma, weakness of spleen and kidneys, and chilblain. As yam is food, eat some yam daily is good for health preserving, but do not eat too much.

Largehead Atractylodes Rh (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Chinese spell: Bai Zhu)

Root of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz, bitter and slight sweet in flavour, warm in nature, can promote Qi circulation, clear away dampness, preserve spleen, dissolve stasis, treat tumor, reduce blood sugar, and prevent miscarrage. Largehead Atractylodes Rh is used to treat weakness of spleen and stomach, diarrhea, edema on pregnant women, abnormal sweating due to general debility.

Angelica Sinensis (Chinese spell: Dang Gui )

Perennial herbal plant, slight sweet and spicy in flavour, warm in nature, can promote blood circulation, regulate menses, reduce pain, and preserve intestinal tract.
Angelica Sinensis is a common herbs to treat irregular menses, apoplexy, lower abdominal pain, constipation, ulcer. Angelica Sinensis can promtes and restrains the action of uterine smooth muscle when it is been used with specific dosage.

Peach Kernel ( Peach Seed, Chinese spell: Tao Ren)

Seed of peach, bitter and slight sweet in flavour, and mild in nature, can promote blood circulation, dissolve stasis, release cough, preserve intestinal tract and relax the bowels. With some specific herbs, Peach Kernal can be used to treat heavy menses, abdominal pain after delivery, irregular menses, cough, and constipation in old people who's intestines function is bad. Notice: Peach Kernel (not almond) has powerful function in promoting blood circulation, should be avoided by pregnant women.

Safflower (Flos Carthami, Chinese spell: Hong Hua)

Slight spicy in flavour and warm in nature, can promote blood circulation, dissipate blood stasis, Safflower is used to treat amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, no expelling of blood after delivery, and traumatic injury. Safflower and Peach Kernal are both herbs to promote blood circulation and dissolve stasis, they are always used together. Notice: Pregnant women should use Safflower under physician's advices.

Lquorice (Radix Glycyrrhizae, Chinese spell: Gan Cao)

Root of leguminosae, sweet in flavour, mild in nature, can preserve spleen, promote Qi circulation, make expectoration easy, relieve cough, dull pain, and reduce the toxicity of other herbs. Lquorice is used to treat cough, asthma, sore throat, stomach pain, and is often used in prescription for the goal of reducing the toxicity.

Aucklandia lappa Decne (Chinese spell: Mu Xiang)

Sipcy and bitter in flavour , warm in nature, can promote Qi circulation. Combined with other hebs, Aucklandia lappa Decne is used to promote the Qi circulation of the whole body and some specific organs.

Rhizoma Corydalis (Chinese spell: Yan Hu Suo)

Perennial herbal plant, slight bitter in flavour, warm in nature, can promote blood and Qi circulation, regulate menses, lower abdominal pain, lower abdominal pain, heart pain, no expelling of blood after delivery. Trogopterus Dung (Faeces Trogopterpri, Chinese spell: Wu Ling Zhi)

Slight sweet in flavour, mild in nature, can promote blood circulation and dissipate stasis, fried Trogopterus Dung can stop bleeding. Trogopterus Dung is used to treat dysmenorrhea, lower abdominal pain caused by irregular menses, heavy menses, amenorrhea.

Hawthorn (Chinese spell: Shan Zha)

Food, sore and sweet in flavour, warm in nature, is appetizing, can promote blood circulation, dissolve stasis, and promote uterine contraction. Hawthorn is used to treat dysmenorrhea, irregular menses, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, anorexia.
