Five self-care measures for adenomyosis patients

Adenomyosis is a common disorder of the female reproductive organs. Meanwhile, it is also the leading cause of chronic pelvic pain in women. The self-care measures of adenomyosis include:
 
1. Keep a proper diet.
 
Eat a diet high in nutrients and low in fat, especially saturated fat which is mostly found in coconut and palm oils, animal sources of fat and hydrogenated vegetable fats. In addition, as soft drinks, tea, coffee may seem to aggravate the pain on women's body, the doctor then recommend women to avoid caffeine. Fish that contains n-3 fatty acid, n-3 fatty acid is a kind of material which can inhibit the creation of prostaglandins; it is a natural anti-prostaglandin medicine for all the people. 
 
2. Use a heating pad on your abdomen.
 
When you stay at home, you need to lie with superheated steam or heating pad deposited abdomen or back. In this way, you can reduce the discomfort of adenomyosis. You can also drink hot water or soak in a warm bath. If the hot compress is useless, you also can use a cold compress, and the ice pack can be placed directly into the abdominal area. 
 
3. Take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others).
 
Check with your doctor for his or her preference. Note: Do not give any medication containing salicylates to anyone younger than 19 years old, unless directed by a physician, due to its association with Reye's syndrome, a potentially fatal condition.
 
4. Consider using oral contraceptives for birth control.
 
Studies have shown that women who take the oral contraceptives have a reduced incidence of adenomyosis.
 
5. Exercise regularly.
 
Taking exercise can also reduce the pain caused by adenomyosis. Besides, the amount of estrogen can be reduced and the adenomyosis may slow down by this activity. Movement also promotes the production of endorphins, which are natural painkillers. You'd take the moderate exercise, such as walking, because if you have excessive activities, the healing and scar tissue would hard to be recovered.
