Dysmenorrhea May Be Related with Sleeping Late
Recently, a study from Japan found that sleeping late on weekends may disrupt the normal menstrual cycle and exacerbate menstrual pain. At the same time, some related studies have shown that sleeping late may also increase the risk of obesity, heart disease, and so on.
The study was published in the International Journal of Chronobiology. Researchers at Meiji Pharmaceutical University in Japan analyzed the sleep and physiological cycle of 150 female college students and found that women who regularly sleep on weekends are more likely to experience severe menstrual pain.
Although the exact cause of this phenomenon is uncertain for the time being, Yoko Komada, the lead researcher in the study, believes that the results suggest that social jet lag may be responsible for disturbing the internal body clock.
Social jet lag refers to the time we sleep on weekdays is not consistent with the time we sleep on weekends because many people will have free time to sleep until they wake up naturally at weekends. It is calculated by comparing the midpoint of a person's sleeping time on a working day with the midpoint of his sleeping time on a rest day. If the difference between the two is greater than one hour, it is classified as a social jet lag.
For example, if a person sleeps between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on a working day, the midpoint of his sleep is 3 a.m. If he sleeps from 12 p.m. to 10 a.m. on weekends, the midpoint of his sleeping time is 5 a.m. So this person's social jet lag is two hours.
In this Japanese study, more than three-quarters of participants had social jet lag, and they were more likely to experience dysmenorrhea than women without social jet lag. Researchers say that disruption of the body's periodic rhythm is likely to affect hormone cycles that regulate menstruation and inflammation. This triggers the release of pain-causing chemicals and prostaglandins, which can aggravate the pain.
In addition, severe dysmenorrhea is not only caused by sleeping. Patients may have menstrual pain due to primary dysmenorrhea, or gynecological diseases such as adenomyosis. When patients quit bad habits at the same time, but also can actively take the traditional herbal medicine Fuyan Pill to treat, it contains more than fifty natural herbs, such as honeysuckle, corydalis tuber, trogopterus dung.
Therefore, Fuyan Pill has a strong bactericidal effect, but also can effectively kill all kinds of pathogenic bacteria and eliminate inflammation. It also has the functions of clearing away heat and detoxification, activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, invigorating spleen, and dampness. Therefore, Fuyan Pill can not only alleviate dysmenorrhea and treat adenomyosis, but also help patients to regulate their body in an all-round way, so as to achieve the effect of removing the disease and fixing the root cause. I wish you recover as soon as possible!
