Can Fish Help You Alleviate the Symptom Dysmenorrhea?

In a small study conducted in Denmark in 1996, the researchers make girls with a dysmenorrhea history ate two grams of fish oil a day (rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids). After three months, their pain has improved, suggesting that omega-3 fatty acids were associated with dysmenorrhea; it has a mitigation effect.

In another larger study (78 people with dysmenorrhea), people ate 2.5 grams of fish oil per day, 2.5 grams of fish oil and 7.5 micrograms of vitamin B12, sea-burst oil, and another control group respectively. Three months later, it was found that the dysmenorrhea of the group, which was fed fish oil and vitamin B12 improved most significantly.

In fact, dysmenorrhea can be divided into primary and secondary type. Primary dysmenorrhea is mainly related to the increase of prostaglandin content in the endometrium during menstruation. Secondary dysmenorrhea is usually caused by diseases like endometriosis and adenomyosis, which can only be relieved temporarily through dietary therapy.

If you want to get rid of dysmenorrhea completely, you need regular treatment in time. Patients with mild symptoms can be treated symptomatically with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They can also take Fuyan Pill, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine with a higher cure rate, which can completely eliminate the focus, pain, and discomfort of patients, and you need not worry about any side effects. In addition, drinking a glass of milk with honey every night can also help women alleviate their spasms.

Fish is rich in nutrition, contains a lot of high-quality protein, and less fat, which is delicate and easy to digest. Recent studies have found that women are more suitable for eating fish. In addition to not getting fat easily, eating fish has the following unique benefits for them.

Beneficial to the healthy growth of the fetus

Danish scientists have found that pregnant women who regularly eat fish are far less likely to have premature delivery than pregnant women who do not eat fish or rarely eat fish. They also found that pregnant women who ate fish once a week had only a 1.9% chance of premature delivery, compared with 7.1% of pregnant women who never ate fish. Researchers believe that fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which may prevent premature delivery and effectively increase the birth weight of newborns.

Prevention of breast cancer

Studies have shown that women in Japan, Korea, and Iceland have a lower incidence of breast cancer, which is related to their frequent consumption of deep-sea fish. Finnish researchers have found that essential amino acids and omega-3 fatty acids in fish inhibit cancer cell formation and prevent cancer cell proliferation. If you eat fish twice a week, you can reduce the recurrence rate of breast cancer.

Prevent complications of diabetes mellitus

Women with diabetes have a high risk of cardiovascular disease. However, foreign studies have shown that the more fish a female diabetic eats, the less likely she will have heart disease in 16 years; compared with those who rarely eat fish, diabetics who eat fish more than five times a week can reduce the incidence of heart disease by 64%.

Prevention of stroke and cardiovascular disease

British researchers tracked 80,000 women aged 34 to 35 and found that eating fish five times a week reduced the incidence of stroke by 52% 14 years later.
