Pelvic Inflammatory Disease can also Be a Consequence of Childbirth

Pelvic inflammatory disease or PID is a broad term for inflammation of the uterus (womb), fallopian tubes and/or ovaries - the female reproductive organs or the upper genital tract. PID may progress to scar formations with fibrous bands that form between tissues and organs (adhesions).

There is a variety of bacteria that can cause PID symptoms, but the bacteria that cause the sexually transmitted diseases gonorrhoea and chlamydia are responsible for most PID infections. In addition, PID can also be a consequence of childbirth.

The bacteria may also enter the body after the insertion of an I.U.D. (Intra-Uterine contraceptive Device), childbirth, miscarriage or abortion. Thus, PID can occur.

The PID symptoms can vary in different women and this can make it very difficult for a doctor to diagnose. It can be an acute (short and severe) or a chronic (long term) infection, particularly when caused by chlamydia infection, may produce only minor symptoms or none at all.

Thus, if you think you have signs of PID, you should go to see the doctor to make sure and get it treated soon. Complications of PID include tuboovarian abscess, tubal stenosis with resulting infertility or sterility and heightened risk of ectopic pregnancy, and peritoneal adhesions.

Herbal medicine named Fuyan Pill can be a good choice for PID. Though it may work slowly, it can get rid of PID symptoms and doesn’t have any side effects. In general, sufferers can recover in three months.
