What are Different Hydrosalpinx Treatments for Women?

A hydrosalpinx means a fallopian tube that is filled with fluid. According to some data, hydrosalpinx accounts for 40% of infertile women. Thus, it's extremely important for women to know different hydrosalpinx treatments when it occurs.

Different Hydrosalpinx Treatments

1. Fertility Drugs
Your doctor may suggest a course of fertility drugs like Clomid or Serophene if only one of your tubes is blocked and you are otherwise healthy. These drugs can help your pituitary gland release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). By this means, the rate of ovulating and becoming pregnant (using the open fallopian tube) for you will be thereby increased. Remember that fertility drugs will not work if both your fallopian tubes are filled with fluid.

2. Laparoscopic Surgery
A laparoscopic surgery will be recommended by your doctor to treat your hydrosalpinx problem if he or she thinks you are suitable for surgery. Before undergoing the laparoscopy procedure, you need to discuss with your doctor about the cause and extent of your blockage. You need to understand that this kind of surgery can increase your risk of future ectopic pregnancies.

3. Herbal Medicines
Herbal Medicines have been proven effective to treat hydrosalpinx problem by lots of patients. The most famous one is named Fuyan Pill. Unlike laparoscopic surgery, it’s totally natural and will not cause any physical damage or side effects. This pill has great functions of eliminating inflammation, killing bacteria, clearing heat and promoting blood circulation etc. The self-immunity can be also enhanced after taking this pill.

4. Salpingectomy
Salpingectomy indicates that part of your fallopian tube need to be removed. It is considered better than other laparoscopic procedures for hydrosalpinx treatment. It is frequently done before an attempt at in vitro fertilization (IVF).

5. Selective Tubal Cannulation
Your doctor may recommend selective tubal cannulation if you have a blockage that is close to your uterus. It’s a medical procedure that involves inserting a cannula through the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tube.

6. In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
IVF is always the last option for becoming pregnant in women with hydrosalpinx problem when those treatments above do not work. In this procedure, the doctor will fertilize an egg with sperm outside your body, and then insert the resulting embryo or embryos into your uterus.

When hydrosalpinx problem presents, don’t be in panic since there are so many different treatments available for you. If becoming a mother is important to you, you can also consider looking into adoption or surrogacy finally if all treatments fail at last.
