Ureaplasma urealyticum infection in women can also cause tubal adhesion, tubal blockage, or hydrosalpinx. Ureaplasma urealyticum infect the fallopian tube and cause chronic salpingitis. As the tubes are inflamed, lesion, hyperplasma, edema can occur, thus tubal adhesion, tubal blockage, or hydrosalpinx develops. Once fallopian tubes don't function well, the transfer of fertilized or unfertilized egg is hindered. As a result, infertility can be the most severe condition caused by ureaplasma urealyticum.

Tubal conditions caused by ureaplasma urealyticum can be treated by laparoscopy temporarily. However, as the infection exists, it is quite possible for such conditions to recur. Thus to treat tubal blockage caused by ureaplasma urealyticum, the infection must be treated as well.
