Can Endometriosis Increase Your Risk For Miscarriage?

Endometriosis is when the growing lining of the uterus appears in other parts of the body than the lining of the uterus. It is a common disease in women of childbearing age, and the spontaneous abortion caused by it has a high clinical incidence, with an average of 40%.

Endometriosis can lead to miscarriage, and after surgical treatment, the miscarriage rate can be reduced by 8%. There are many causes of miscarriage due to endometriosis.

The main cause of miscarriage due to endometriosis is that the ectopic endometrium is regarded as an antigen, which stimulates the body to produce antibodies, which interfere with embryonic development and lead to miscarriage.

First, the number of follicular receptors in patients with endometriosis is reduced, resulting in insufficient secretion function, and inadequate nutrition provided to the fetus in the first trimester affects embryonic development.

Second, patients with endometriosis have a significantly higher incidence of unruptured follicle luteinization syndrome (the follicle does not rupture and ovulate after a certain period of growth, but luteinization occurs inside it) compared with normal women. Poor ovulation function leads to luteal insufficiency and thus miscarriage.

From the examination of peritoneal fluid of patients with endometriosis, some toxic chemicals to the embryo, such as prostaglandins, can cause endometriosis-related pain, which can also affect fertility by interfering with the movement of the fallopian tubes and the picking up of eggs. Changes in the immune system may also be associated with increased miscarriage rates.

It is recommended that patients with endometriosis receive tocolytic therapy as soon as possible after the pregnancy diagnosis and detect HCG, estradiol, and progesterone. If the patient's progesterone is low, a doctor may prescribe oral progesterone. During the treatment of tocolytic drugs, blood should be drawn regularly, the changes in hormones should be observed in time, and it should be determined as soon as possible whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy and whether there is a fetal heartbeat.

In addition to causing miscarriage, endometriosis has some other severe symptoms:
1. Pain is the most common symptom in patients with endometriosis. The pain is usually more than half a year, lingering and repeated. The most common is dysmenorrhea, mainly manifested as secondary dysmenorrhea and gradually increased.

2. Endometriosis is one of the leading causes of infertility. Up to 50% of patients with endometriosis have infertility, which is 20 times that of the normal population. Mainly because endometriosis can often cause adhesions around the fallopian tubes, or ovulation is affected by ovarian lesions.

3. Some patients have increased menstrual flow, prolonged periods, incessant menstrual bleeding, or premenstrual spotting. It may be related to anovulation, corpus luteum insufficiency, or combined with adenomyosis and uterine fibroids in ovarian parenchyma lesions.

4. Sexual discomfort. Pain caused by collision or uterine contraction during sexual intercourse generally manifests as deep intercourse pain, most obvious before menstrual cramps.

5. Other special symptoms. Some patients may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, periodic small amounts of blood in the stool, dysuria and frequent urination during menstruation, back pain, and hematuria. Patients often experience periodic scar pain and mass after cesarean section or lateral episiotomy, which aggravates over time.

In the treatment of endometriosis, hormonal drugs and the treatment of surgical curettage will not only make patients resistant to drug resistance, making the effect of drug treatment worse, and even at the cost of hysterectomy. There will be great side effects. Therefore, patients can take the traditional Chinese medicine Fuyan Pill to cure endometriosis and prevent it from recurring completely.
