Can You Get Endometriosis Without the Uterus?

Endometriosis may also occur without the uterus. If a hysterectomy has been performed, and both attachments and bilateral ovaries have been removed, there will be no new endometriosis lesions and will not cause recurrence.

The cause of endometriosis is that active endometrial cells grow outside the uterus. If there is an active endometrium growing on the ovary, ovarian endometriosis, that is, chocolate cysts, these ectopic lesions can also grow in sacral ligaments, fallopian tubes, pelvic cavity, peritoneum and other parts, or even tired. And the fallopian tube and bladder.

These ectopic lesions, like endometrial tissue, are affected by estrogen secreted by the ovaries and periodically bleeding. Therefore, as long as there is an ovary, resection of the uterus cannot stop the effect of ectopic lesions outside the uterus. Patients may still have dysmenorrhea, lower abdominal pain, masses, and other symptoms. If it is only an accessory to hysterectomy or the ovary is not removed, it is still possible to recur again. Hence, it is still possible to develop endometriosis, depending on the scope of the specific resection. If it is completely removed, that is to say, if it is a radical operation, there will be no recurrence.

How to treat endometriosis?

Endometriosis is divided into drug treatment and surgical treatment. The specific treatment plan needs to adopt an individualized treatment plan according to the woman's age, the stage of symptoms, the location of the lesion, and the fertility requirements.

Drug treatment suits women with small lesions, fertility requirements, and patients without ovarian cysts. In drug treatment, relevant blood tests need to be carried out regularly to find out whether there is any damage to liver and kidney function. If there is any abnormality, the drug should be stopped in time, and the drug cannot be taken orally for a long time. After stopping, the initial symptoms will sometimes appear again.

Drug treatment is mainly a compound preparation of oral estrogen and progesterone, which reduces the hormone content in the body and artificially stops menstruation, which can cause necrosis and fall off the endometrium in abnormal locations, thus achieving the purpose of treatment, but it is prone to recurrence.

Hence, women can choose the herbal medicine Fuyan Pill for treatment. It can eliminate all symptoms of endometriosis, improve the patient's resistance, and reduce the probability of recurrence.

Surgical treatment is mainly to remove the lesion and restore the anatomical structure. After the surgical removal of the lesion, it is also necessary to carry out long-term management to avoid the recurrence of endometriosis. Surgical treatment is mainly used for ectopic endometrial ovaries, resulting in chocolate cysts in the ovaries, and in relatively large cases, more than 5cm, timely surgical treatment is needed.

The surgical treatment effect is fairly good, but it can also easily lead to recurrence. In addition, patients can prevent or prolong the recurrence period and improve the therapeutic effect by injecting GnRH muscle after surgery.

Precautions for endometriosis

Patients with endometriosis should pay attention to the following points:

1. Endometriosis is a chronic and relapsing disease. It is necessary to observe your symptoms and progress in daily life. If you tend to relapse, you should see a doctor in time. Patients taking drugs need to watch whether there are adverse drug reactions.

2. If dysmenorrhea is severe during menstruation, patients should stay in bed, which can help relieve the symptoms.

3. Participate in physical exercise regularly. Exercise can promote blood circulation and release endorphins that relieve pain. Low-intensity exercise can alleviate pain by stretching pelvic tissue or muscles.

4. To eat healthily, you should eat more fruits and fresh vegetables daily and fewer foods with high-fat content.
