Is Endometriosis Stage 4 Severe?

Endometriosis refers to the growth of endometrial tissue in the endometrial cavity and other parts of the myometrium. In fact, the stages of endometriosis are mainly based on the size and depth of peritoneum and ovarian lesions, the extent and degree of adhesion of ovary and fallopian tube, and the degree of rectocele and uterine depression sealing.

According to the scores, the stages are divided into different stages: stage 1: 1-5, stage 2: 6-15, stage 3: 16-40, and stage 4: more than 40. This is the most commonly used clinical stage of endometriosis. It is the RAFS score, which is proposed first time by the American Society of Reproduction (ASRM) to propose and has been revised three times.

According to clinical investigation and statistics, patients with endometriosis are generally characterized by progressive dysmenorrhea, which is a common and prominent feature, mostly secondary to the onset of endometriosis. In addition, the patients will have the periodic rectal stimulation symptoms of progressive aggravation, which is rare in other gynecological diseases and is a very valuable symptom for the diagnosis of this disease.

In addition, about 50% of patients with endometriosis have infertility at the same time. However, the score of patients with endometriosis stage 4 is more than 40, which indicates that the symptoms are very serious, and the pathological changes are not optimistic, so we need to treat them actively.

Most of the conservative treatments were pseudopregnancy or pseudo menopause, with danazol and tamoxifen, Nemestran, pravila, and so on. After taking these drugs, the patients will stop menstruation and form a pseudopregnancy state. However, this kind of drug has certain damage to the liver and kidney, and the side effects will be relatively large.

Even when some patients use these drugs and have no effect, they need to stop taking because of the side effects. After stopping the drugs, menstruation will become regular, and the condition will generally continue to develop and aggravate.

There are two kinds of surgical treatments. One is conservative surgery, which only excises, peels, and knocks out the local part of the lesion. However, due to the heavy adhesion, the operation is often incomplete, and the lesion can not be cleared, so the recurrence rate is relatively high.

The second is a radical operation to remove both ovaries and uterus, but it is extremely cruel for young women and unborn women. It may also cause complications, physical pain and mental trauma, and post-operative menopausal syndrome.

The TCM treatment will not produce any side effects, but also can help patients regulate the whole body, repair the damaged organs and tissues, so as to achieve the effect of eliminating diseases and consolidating the foundation. For example, the common herbal medicine Fuyan Pill, gardenia, forsythia, Huangling, honeysuckle and other herbal ingredients in the formula have the effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, invigorating the spleen and removing dampness.

Therefore, it can help patients eliminate inflammation, regulate menstrual disorders, and repair damaged tissues and organs. In addition, it can also make the blood in the patient's reproductive system unblocked and effectively relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea and local pain. Moreover, it can achieve a significant effect in the treatment of endometriosis. At last, it is reminded that this disease will continue to aggravate the cyclical changes of ovarian hormones, so the earlier treatment is critical.
